HELIOS Clinic Geesthacht

HELIOS Clinic Geesthacht is a specialist clinic for neurology and a neurological rehabilitation centre. It is situated on 60 hectares of park-like grounds on the outskirts of the town of Geesthacht, which lies on the banks of the river Elbe. We have been treating children, adolescents and young adults aged from 0 – 25 for 30 years. The number of patients treated annually has meanwhile risen to 750.

Medical emphasis of HELIOS Clinic Geesthacht

Our core competence is neurological rehabilitation combined with the possibility of accepting patients from intensive care stations at a very early stage. Ours is one of very few specialist clinics that have built up an intermediate care station with standards very similar to those of an intensive care station. Here, we are able to perform rehabilitative treatments on patients who are dependent on ventilation, those who require long-term ventilation and those who are dependent on other intensive care measures. Weaning patients from ventilation is part of our scope of treatments.
The patients benefit from the early transfer into our centre because they are then able to begin with targeted therapies at an early stage. At the same time, we ensure that all essential intensive care measures can be continued.
